What is the difference between VMware and Virtual Machine?
The question is about Vmware
The difference between VMware and a virtual machine lies in their roles and functions. VMware develops software to create, manage, and optimize virtual machines and virtualized environments. As a matter of fact, VMware was one of the companies that introduced a suite comprising tools such as VMware Workstation, VMware vSphere, and VMware Fusion, which were intended to allow users to create and manage VMs on physical servers and workstations. A virtual machine is an emulation of a physical computer based on software. Each VM has its operating system and applications inside the host operating system. Several VMs may exist on a single physical computer. A standard method for the creation and management of such virtual machines is VMware. However, VMs are not proprietary to VMware in any way. Similar functionality allowing users to create and manage VMs is included into other platforms as well, Microsoft Hyper-V and Oracle VirtualBox among them. That is, in other words, VMware is the tools through which to create and manage virtual machines, a VM, whereas the emulated computer environment running on top of those tools.
