What matters for us
Since 2015, we've screened thousands of candidates to learn what separates strong performers from good interviewees. Our AI assistant handles pre-screening, freeing our engineers and recruiters to focus where it matters most: evaluating how top candidates think, communicate, and perform under pressure.
Proven commercial experience
Not on paper, but real commercial experience with the required stack, proven on real products.
Fluent English and effective communication
We test communication skills, starting from small talk to complex collaboration role-playing.
Self-management and responsibility
Our screening is intense, packing many touchpoints into a short window, and candidates who miss commitments are screened out.
AI-augmented problem solving
We test how developers use AI: what they delegate, validate, and own. Treating AI as a crutch or a way to dodge accountability is a dealbreaker.
How it works
The most important is HOW we vet and this is the part we take pride in. Just have a look at our technical interview.
Small talk
Yep, it’s not just a warm-up — developers who can’t hold a casual convo don’t pass. We prioritise communication as it’s key to problem-solving, not just closing tickets.
Experience dive
We assess how candidates chose tools and tackled real challenges. Can they: ship impactful upgrades, collaborate effectively, handle legacy code.
Non-googleable theory check
We open with tricky, non-googleable questions to test real knowledge, then cover core theory (data types, function internals, framework differences), and verify candidates have applied it in practice.
Practice challenge
That’s the best part where we throw real problems their way, like system design, live coding, code review and many more.
AI-assisted development
We watch how they reach for AI — or don’t. What we’re looking for is judgment: knowing when to use AI, what to hand off, and when to keep full control.
“Passion for tech” screening
We want to know: the latest tech they’re using, how they keep their skills sharp, what resources they use, and the cool stuff they’ve brought to their last projects.
Behind the vetting
There are things we might compromise on, but it’s never about the critical quality markers. Some of the real-life challenges we encounter:

Not enough time on interview
We adopt a “less theory, more practice” approach to spot more potential gaps on practical problems and save time on just checking theory.

Too many skills to validate
We can’t test every skill in CV, so we validate and show the core stack. Extra skills get a per-project interview on request.

Uncertain feedback from an interviewer
Interviewers are human, so if feedback isn’t clear-cut, we ask another specialist for a second opinion on the same stack.

Dealing with “not a small talk guys”
We give strong candidates a chance even if small talk isn’t their thing. Clients sometimes reject great fits for seeming awkward or shy, so we help those devs prepare for interviews.
